Resolved Question: Has anyone actually lived in the dreaded "M" suburbs in Cairns, QLD, Australia?

I'll be moving to Cairns soon, and I'm looking at potential units in suburbs such as Manunda and Manoora. Now, all I hear about these places is to steer clear of them as they are considered to be on the 'rough' side. There must be some truth to what people are saying, I admit. However, I can't help but feel that people are just repeating a common idea, and are not actually investigating the conditions for themselves. Can someone give me some advice please? I would really appreciate it. Thanks. From what I could tell, the neighbourhood I'm looking at doesn't seem too bad. Still, I wanted some advice from people that have actually lived there themselves. Of course, I will make my final decision, but I just wanted to see what others think about it. So far, the only advice I have received is from those who haven't lived there.
